What I am listening to - Florence + the Machine

Dear Blogger Followers:

I have been horribly lazy with keeping up with my blog the last 6 months, and for that I apologize. First it was the tornado in Joplin that kind of sucked the desire and drive that I had in me right out. Then it was the survivor's guilt of it all. "How can I write a blog on how to decorate your house when so many have lost theirs?" And then it was just sheer laziness and lack of inspiration.

Which is why I turn to music when I am sorely lacking in that department. Music has been a constant source of inspiration, passion, drive, and motivation for me. I don't know why, but it's like coffee for my creative side. When that section of my brain goes into hibernation mode, I put some soul grabbing, passion stirring, spirit lifting music on and its like a switch has been flipped. So I thought that for today I would share what has me motivated, inspired, passionate, and raring to go.

You might have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of my blog and pause my player in order to listen to the videos...or you can just go onto whatever site you like and listen to them.

So put on your dancing pants and crank up the volume!!!

First:

Florence + The Machine's Shake It Off. WOW...seriously how is it her music can reach so deep inside of me and grab every fiber of my being and give it a jolt of much needed electricity? This is the kind of song you crank up at eardrum busting volume and dance like you're on fire around the house to.



Second:

The Naked and Famous - Punching In A Dream. More dance around like a boss music.



Third:

The Temper Traps - Sweet Disposition and Fader. I know these aren't new songs, but I can't get enough of them.





Last but most certainly not least:

Ellie Goulding's cover of Passion Pit's Sleepy Head - PHENOMENAL and Mind Blowing!!



I hope that these songs will awaken your creative/passionate side as it has done for me.
